The UIIA stands for the Uniform Intermodal Interchange & Facilities Access Agreement. This is an organization that maintains carrier compliance for all railroads and ports. No, CSXIT no longer requires a letter of credit to become a dray carrier with CSXIT. This is a requirement we have waived in recent years

In order to become a carrier for CSXIT, carriers must comply with the UIIA.  Carriers must have a rail equipment interchange and be a CSXIT-registered equipment provider.

Carrier must be service focused and demonstrate solid on-time performance.  Most of our carriers have a minimum truck count of 10 units, however unit minimums vary by market.

Approval to access CSX equipment and facilities is managed through the UIIA / IANA and is automatically updated to CSX electronically.

• Any outstanding requirements for your company will be shaded in red. Motor Carriers also have the ability to execute the CSXIT Addendum and Credit application online through the UIIA website.
• All completed forms are submitted directly to the UIIA via fax (301 982-3414) or emailed to Intermodal.
• If submitted online, Motor Carrier will be required to print, sign and fax the CSXIT Credit Application to the UIIA office if pulling Rail Equipment.

Private or Rail Equipment:

• Send Form 11 A (signed signature page of the CSXIT Addendum) Rail Equipment: Also send the completed Form 11B (MCIA Application) Insurance documents will be submitted directly to UIIA with access available to insurance agents/companies for submission of online updates. • MCIA Application (Form 11B) for movement of Rail Equipment (CSXU / UMXU containers) require additional system set up and will be processed within 3 business days. Facility and Private Equipment access is automatically updated within 30 minutes of approved status in the UIIA system.
• Driver data must be registered directly in the Intermodal Driver Database (IDD) with the UIIA. CSX automatically receives driver data for UIIA members who are also approved (Private or Rail) for CSX Intermodal Terminals.
• Truck placards must match the name on the Interchange / MCIA Application.
